Couple LA guys hit the track tonight

I was off the bottle, but still put down a decent 15.001 @ 94mph.
I was running 15.0xx -15.1xx for the entire night. Need to finish a few projects and get the bottle on there.
Rhino could'nt launch mainly because he's not used to his clutch yet.
Bryant's auto was the fail... his best being a 15.5ish I believe. He should have been ALOT lower than that... so I dunno.

We had a good time.
Theres a couple videos.

It was an impulse buy for the kit.
Need a different jet and I can run it.
I've got 3 tunes for the car, my daily tune, autox tune, and nitrous tune.

Camera phone pic of Bryant in the left lane, some random new recruit to Gulf State Tibs in the right.

The only casuality of the night was my friend Marks 2001 Z06 Corvette.
He made one pass fresh of the street and went 11.70.
Second pass he lowered the pressure in his MT slicks to 17psi, set launch control to 3,500... launched and got sick traction... then BOOM.
Rear end exploded. Diff housing snapped in half.
500whp will do that.

Hmmmmm Bryant should of had better numbers than that on his 60's .... How is he launching ... I have some little tricks that might help him out not only with launching but shifting as well .... Your numbers look good .....

launching at about 1,700 RPM and just letting the shiftronic do the shifting

tried launching at about 2,000 RPM later in the night but I dont think it made a difference...once i reached 3rd the acceleration sloweeeed down

Ok here goes .... and this is something you can try not at the track as well ...

Don't shoot for a certain RPM to launch at ...

Here is my experience, at the line I torque braked (held the brake down and had the gas to the floor and launched on the third yellow light) but everytime I did that it felt like the car was bogging down when I let off the brake. So I tried something a little different, on the first yellow light I waited, as soon as the second yellow light came on I stomped the gas to the floor, the third yellow light comes on I let off the brake. I was getting pretty hard launches and 2as easily hitting 2.0 and 2.1 60's. Evidently holding the rpms builds up heat and or pressure inside of the trans causing it to lag when you let off. By punching the gas and a split second latter letting off the gas as the RPM's are climbing I was getting a much harder launch out of it. there was no delay in the rise of the RPM's at launch they just kept climbing. ... If you don't understand the way I explained it let me know and I will see if I can do better.

As far as shifting I was able to get the stock trans to shift faster, It takes a lot of practice and listening to your car to get it exactly right but it helps some and keeps you off the redline. Leave the stick in shifttronic and leave it there, stomp the gas through 1st gear, and right at the moment you are nearing redline, quickly let off the gas about half way and slam it back to the floor and it will shift faster. it lowers the pressure just slightly to allow it to shift a little faster. you can do the same for 2nd and third as well. ..

Any way here is a vid of me running my old car ... granted it is a cold run but you can hear the way I am peddling the gas to shift it ...

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/T...-run_39875.htm

and at the track
