So now ive seen an RX-7 (common), civic, and Evo with an LS-1 conversion. Must be good for fuel economy if everyone is doing it.

People may hate me for sayin this, but... those motors belong in American muscle cars. It reminds me of that time I almost threw up in my mouth watching Tokyo Drift. C'mon, a Nissan motor in a 'stang?

I just don't believe in the "cross-breeding" of cars. Just my opinion.

I'll admit it's pretty badass hearin an EVO sound like that, though. I wouldn't f*** with it

My personal opinion is that if you can dream it you can build it. If you build a lambo kit car you normally put a fierro v-6 motor or carb 350. Why not a ls1 or ls7. Why not a 2jzgte, rb25, rb26, 4g63, rb20 or other great power motors out there. I think that you should find a car you like the looks of and build it to suit your fancy. Thats me though. I wouldn"t use a ford motor to save my ass though(doesnt matter if its a 351 windser, 351 clevand, or a 5.0 or slow 4.6).

Well, if they can afford it and that's what they wanna do... then more power to 'em. I'm not telling anyone what to do. I was just disgusted with that movie, in terms of what they did to an American muscle car.

But damn... an LS1 more gas efficient? How'd they do that?

I think that gm just hit it spot on with the 350 ci motor when they did it in the 60's. Despite the change over the years it is still basically them same with the biggest change being fuel injection. Everything seems to work very smoothly and flow well together. The iginition it stout and the ecu calibrated better than many cars from the factory. Of course why would someone produce a 300hp car that got 12-18 mpg when they could make it get 18-24 with the same power. Another factor is the transmission. The t56 six-speed gets better gas mileage that the auto by far.
