Back in the day, Valeo was a POS. dunno how they are now. Hell, our stock clutchs, are valeo. Pressure plate is.. so I assume the clutch disk, and flywheel are too.

There was a thread on NT explaining all of this...
Can't link it unfortunately... That is a heavy duty clutch kit(rated @ 350+) that has taken anything given to it in korea...
Speaking of which mine is in... Looks nasty... Check my ride section..

that's cause the stock clutches suck, not so much with their upgraded stuff. It's like hyundai bought the cheapest thing they had and put em in

Congrats, I hope your experience with them is good. I personally, wouldn't recommend Valeo to anyone..... not even my enemy/s.

i heard they were rated for like 110hp so even on a stock v6 they were undersized..

yea exactly. Plenty of people are running the upgraded ones, the Hyper Racing, with zero problems. Also, kdmguy's hueg turbo tib was running the extreme. I've got the extreme as well with zero problems. Also, everyone has their problems. Fidanza fudged up the hy3 vs hy5 issue. CM fudged up their stg iv 6 puck sprung clutches.

Dude, can't wait to put ma 6.5 crank :p I'll see if I can get one of my boys camera within the next couple days. I'll make a short video of revving, and idle.. (solid mounts)

Yeah, I didn't go with CM because they were sending the wrong flywheels to people. The Extreme and VHR fit every year, 5 or 6 speed so no worries on fitment...

haha exaclty why i went with mine... and well cause Ted @ ark got me the extreme kit for $790 express shipped from korea + a $200 install. Good deal for all the gripping power i could want

What's so hard about finding the right one? HY3? HY5? you guys make it look complicated for our fellow newbies. Its more than likely, you'll need a HY5.

I got one of those bad apples.. CM's clutch disk. But, they sent me a new one the next day!

yea, i mean, if i were going that route I wouldn't have gone with the hy5 even for my 09/02 produced tib. Simply because they're the common one and easy to sell. But still, it's a severly annoying issue on their part. Also, that cm thing is stupid too. You apparently got lucky cause they shaft a lot of people and give some excuse like, "well... you tried to install it so you're screwed."

Although, it's nothing a file can't fix as proven by Heratik.

The problem was CM didn't know which flywheel they were sending out, I don't know if they had an internal SKU number mixup or fidanza mixed up a shipment.
Not only that, but the splines needed to be ground down to fit on some. I'm glad your car is all good to go, but I don't want to have my clutch torn apart and have to wait for another fly/clutch and have it sit. Sucks for the people that took it to shops, they were probably charged up the ass to store the car their while the replacement came...

You can try to file it yourself :) Just be careful. CM's wasn't doing this crap. Apparently, there's a few bad apples (clutch disk) out there.

Yeah my 06 6speed revved to redline in about half the time with my South Bend/Fidanza flywheel setup. It was sweet.
