Ok guys I just did my header install and afterwards these are the 4 cels I am throwing. I did do some research but Im hoping someone out there can give me a definant answer to these.

1) P0118 Engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor – high input Coolant thermostat, wiring open circuit/short to positive, ground wire defective, ECT sensor

2) P0136 Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 2, bank 1 – circuit malfunction Heating inoperative, wiring, HO2S, ECM Oxygen sensor (O2S) 2, bank 1 – circuit malfunction Wiring, O2S, ECM

3) P0156 Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 2, bank 2 – circuit malfunction Heating inoperative, wiring, HO2S, ECM Oxygen sensor (O2S) 2, bank 2 – circuit malfunction Wiring, O2S, ECM

4) P0160 Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 2, bank 2 – no acitivty detected Wiring, HO2S, ECM Oxygen sensor (O2S) 2, bank 2 – no activity detected Wiring, O2S, ECM

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok the last 3 I realize are all related due to my header install. They are for my 2 secondary o2 sensors. I have noticed that some people say to just install the o2 sensors, let them hang in the free air, or put spacers on them to put them in but out of te flow. During the install i ziptied them in the engine bay down near the bottom of where they hung to. Should I have ziptied them up higher in the engine bay? Does anyone know from personal experience how they get them to work for themselves? I also read that these are just temporary fixes for the cel and it will come on anyway ... does anyone know a perminant fix?

Now as for the first one dealing with the coolant ... Does anyone have any idea? I noticed that someone else had the problem HERE but it was never answered. My car is ideling really high at around 3k and it hesitates really bad. It feels like you hit a wall when you step on the gas and there is a huge hesitation. Also when I am sitting at a stop light i have to give it gas so that it doesnt stall out and when it does stall i have a helluva time getting it restarted. It will start right up after it has sat but if it has been running for a little bit it will stall out real quick.

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!! Especially with the last one since that is the more threatening one.

I have an early 2003

so far i just reinstalled the secondary o2 sensors so that should get rid of that problem i hope

now as for the p0118 cel i removed my radiator hoses and drained my coolant system and am going to fill it back up tomorrow after work cause i ran out of time but i could not find a sensor on the coolant system anywhere! does anyone have any input? i removed the temperatue probe and put it back in but i dunno how to check if it is bad or not

Make sure you didn't burn up any wires against your headers.

Actually Mitch most likely has it right, as far as the codes are concerned all of them are pointing to a short or an open circuit in the system. Always start with the easiest answer first ....

ok so how do i determine whether i have a short or an open circuit?

^ look at wires, see if they have touched the headers. You'll notice them being very charred and melted together lol.
