Alright, next week I pick up my assassin.
I really need to figure out a good clutch for around $500.

Anyways, i'm hearing good things about the spec stg. III, and I went to the Spec site, but am unsure if its for a 5 or speed, or if the clutch is for both.
I would link to it, but its a flash site. BOO!

Second one i'm looking at, is one TC sells.
Anyone use the Centerforce? Is it a decent clutch setup for 300whp?

I have done all my homework on Assassinating my car, except the clutch part.

help!

There is no difference between 5 and 6 speed clutch/flywheel.

I'd go Clutchmaster Stage 4. I have a stage 3 and I love it. From what I've heard the 4 puck stage 4 is the way to go for your power range.

I have a Clutchmasters STG 3 clutch with Fidanza flywheel as well and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Smooth engagement, light pedal feel, but grabs hard when you need it to. I will be STG 2 supercharged in the spring, so it will be maxed out. If I were you I would grab the Clutchmasters STG 4 6-puck(less agressive than the four puck, but should hold the base line Assassin level) If you ever decide to upgrade the Assassin afterwards though your best bet is the Spec STG 5 or NGM TD and a built block of course.

I got a spec Stage 3+ and it was a good clutch for the power i was pushing, and my CM solid 4 puck arrived today... my spec was starting to burn up after repeated abuse

I would get the Clutchmasters Stage 4 6 puck. Its alot easier on engagements and such. Should hold the power pretty well. I love my stage 3 its really nice. Also if u get it from ultrarev.com they have a sale for NT members.

the cm stage IV 6 puck is fine to drive, but it looks like the unsprung 4-puck stage IV is the way to go. Seems like it might hold the most power out of the stage IV's.

 DEFINITELY go with a CM Stage IV Ceramic UNSPRUNG (SOLID HUB)!! I originally had a CM Stage IV 6-PUCK Ceramic sprung hub setup, and it completely came apart on me after only 10,000 miles (while I was still N/A)!! Let's just say that the springs got SPRUNG!

Here's some pics of my old CM Stage IV Sprung Hub setup:

Here is the CM Stage IV Unsprung (solid hub) setup I have now:

Been running this setup with my Assassin for almost a year and half with no problems yet!! As for how it engages...it's just like stock (and even better if you've done the slave cylinder mod which is HIGHLY recommended).

Hope that makes your decision a little easier!!

I have a CM stage IV 4 puck and driving with it was not much different then stock. I am not sure why people talk about how much harsher it is. You will notice a difference, but it is not bad.
